Weiter geht es nach Jasper... Kilometerweit kommt uns kein Auto entgegen.
We headed for Jasper... For many miles, we had not seen any other cars coming along.But a lot of beautiful landscape.
Dafür schöne Landschaft satt.
The more we came Northbound the warmer it became. You could see it in the lakes as the mountains mirrored on their surfaces.
Je weiter wir in den Norden kommen, desto wärmer wird es. Das macht sich auch auf den Seen bemerkbar, in denen sich die Berge schon spiegeln. Mitten zwischen Banff und Jasper gibt es eine Tankstelle... und die lässt es sich gut bezahlen: 1,609 CAD/l... Sonst zahlen wir so um die 1,20/1,30 CAD/l.
Just in the middle between Banff and Jasper there was a service station... and they really asked for good money: 1.609 CAD/ liter... Somewhere else we paid around 1.20/1.30 CAD/ liter. As we did not listen to the radio we did not notice the traffic information that our road was blocked...
Da wir kein Radio hören, bekommen wir die Verkehrsmeldung auch für diese Verkehrsstörung nicht mit... Als wir am Columbia Icefield ankommen ist leider schon alles zu. Hell genug wäre es ja gewesen.
When we passed Columbia Icefield everything was closed already. It was bright enough.
