Tag/Day 0A.1 Pre-Cruise vor der/before to ISLAND PRINCESS in Montréal, QC, Canada

Eigentlich sollten wir jetzt auf der DIAMOND PRINCESS von Tianjin nach Vancouver unterwegs sein, aber es geht nicht, weil erstmalig wir keinen Urlaub mehr übertragen dürfen. Also starten wir zum Himmelsfahrttag Richtung Kanada, während es in Deutschland so aussieht. Eine Zeit, die ich besonders mag, wenn der Raps so golden blüht. Und wir sind dem Frühling drei Wochen hinterher, so dass ich vermute, dass alles schon vorbei ist, wenn ich wieder da bin.



Originally we should go on DIAMOND PRINCESS from Tianjin, China to Vancouver, BC but we could not as we were not allowed to transfer vacation days from year to the next. So we started Ascension Day towards Canada while it looked in Germany this way. A time which I like very much: when the canola bloom in gold. So I thought that this would be over after we returned as nature was three weeks behind schedule.









Our voyage started at the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt. I collected enough miles for Bruno and me.



Die Reise beginnt am First Class Terminal in Frankfurt. Ich hatte genügend Meilen gesammelt, damit es für Bruno und für mich reicht.

Und da wir die gleichen Steuern wie für die Economy oder Business Class zahlen, wollte ich einmal im Leben, mir den Spaß gönnen, mal am First Class Terminal in Frankfurt zu starten, weil ich scharf auf das Quitsche-Entchen war, das man mitnehmen darf...



As we had to pay the same amount for taxes like for Economy or Business Class I wanted to experience once in my lifetime the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt when we start because I was hot to have such a rubber duck which you are allowed to take with you.



Doch noch besser als in der Welcome Lounge...



Much more better than in the Welcome Lounge...



At the beginning we let DO & CO from Vienna, Austria pamper us. I was surprised that Lufthansa own subsidiary LSG Sky Chef was not good enough to work here.



Zunächst lassen wir uns jedoch von DO & CO aus Wien verwöhnen. Ich war erstaunt, dass die Lufthansa-eigene Tochter LSG Sky Chef nicht genug ist, um hier aktiv zu sein.

Das ist so, als wenn wir vom KaDeWe in Berlin oder Dallmayr in München schlemmen würden.



It was about the same like to feast at KaDeWe in Berlin or Dallmayr in Munich.







Die österreichischen Spezialitäten sind natürlich spitze.



The Austrian specialities were of course great.











And in the meantime our car was parked. We contacted ahead with Sixt-Valet-Service who was in charge at the Lufthansa Valet Service.



Und zwischendurch ist das Auto geparkt. Wir hatten uns vorher beim Sixt-Valet-Service erkundigt, der am Lufthansa First Class Terminal zuständig ist.

Sie hatten uns vorab bestätigt, dass wir das Frühbucher-Angebot vom Flughafen Frankfurt nutzen können und haben das Auto entsprechend im P2 am Terminal 1 abgestellt.



They confirmed ahead that we can use the Early Bird offers of Frankfurt Airport and so our car was parked in the P2 Parking at Terminal 1.

With the Miso-Soup and with the Dim Sum they need to exercise a little...



Bei der Miso-Suppe und beim Dim Sum müssen sie noch ein wenig üben...

So halte ich mich lieber an die österreichischen Schmankerln, die es dort gibt.



So I kept more the Austrian Delicacy which were available.

I really need a new job where I need to fly First Class... How should someone get me back to Economy Class...



Ich brauche unbedingt einen neuen Job, bei dem ich nur First Class fliegen muss... Wie bekommt mich jemand je wieder in die Economy Class...

Auf der Anzeigentafel stehen nur die Flüge der Gäste, die sich hier im First Class Terminal befinden. Es ist allerdings erstaunlich voll für einen Himmelfahrtsmorgen.



On the departure display you only found the flights of the guests who were in the First Class Terminal. It was quite busy for a morning at Ascension Day.









We enjoyed our stay.



Wir genießen den Aufenthalt.

Und wenn man zwischendurch auf die Toilette muss...



And if you need to see the toilet in between...

Everyone has a generous cabin of his own...



Jeder hat seine eigene großzügige Kabine...

Und dann wir auch schon unser Flug aufgerufen.



And then they paged our flight.

They took us to our flight at an airfield position by a Mercedes-Benz S-Class.



Mit einer Mercedes-Benz-S-Klasse werden wir direkt zum Flugzeug auf die Vorfeldposition gefahren.



Just next to us Lufthansa's "Mönchengladbach" (the place I raised up) parked... The first "Mönchengladbach" was a Boeing 727... when I was a little boy...



Daneben parkt zufällig die "Mönchengladbach" der Lufthansa... Die erste "Mönchengladbach" war eine Boeing 727... damals noch als ich ein kleiner Junge war...
