We only need few minutes to the Check-In, and we had an angel at the counter of Air Canda. We had to bags exceeding 50 lbs (52 and 53 lbs.) but as we also had two bags much lighter than 50 lbs. She turned a blind eye. Further the portion Calgary - Edmonton was canceled as we said that no tax must not return. Always helpful were some gentle phrases in French although there should be a difference between French Quebequois and Parisien. But first, we need to have breakfast. Here it looked very well: La Boulangerie de Montréal. CAUTION: Clicking this link makes happy feeling and hunger (you must turn on your loud-speakers!!!)

Here everything looked really yummy.

You really did not know where to start and where to end.

But we had unluck: in the Maple Leave Lounge of Air Canada, we were told that it was not allowed to eat our own food there. But they allowed us to leave the sandwiches there for the lunch of the staff members. So had to eat things we did not like to eat first.

Und dann ging es nach Calgary.

And then we headed to Calgary.

Although Air Canada said something different as we used our miles: we were allowed to buy the Bulkhead seats to have more legroom.

As our bags were marked "Priority" they were loaded at the end.

But that also meant they stayed in the rain until they were loaded at the end.

Grrr...

Grrr....

Due to 2 hours time difference between Calgary and Montréal we had a snack before we landed so we should not lose any time.

You need to buy the food... looked like a shoe sole... but it was a Vegetarian flatbread.

Air Canada adjusted just for me the onboard entertainment...

Ship2Shore.TV: but that program was nothing for me... river cruises in Russia with shore excursions which costs a 4-digit amount of USD... out of range... We were willing to spend that amount of money to see Machu Pichu or Taj Mahal but not to have a ride in a former Soviet tank in uniform... But who need it should get it....

And then we were approaching for Calgary.

It looked funny at the baggage claim. The Parks Canada Administration designed the baggage caroussel. Fit perfectly to us as we headed for the Banff and Jasper National Parks.

Our baggage came very quickly.

And we headed to Avis. Never had a touch-screen in an elevator before but it was great.

The right car with the right space just for our bags: Ford Escape.

We used our iPhone as GPS. It was important that you enter your destination as long as you had an internet signal as then it went offline. It was so important as you did not get any cell phone signal later in Banff National Park and you cannot enter a new destination.

There they were the Rocky Mountains.

And a traffic congestion some where in the middle of nowhere.

To enter the National Parks you need to have ticket.

But just that day one lane was closed due to constructions.

Somewhere in the boonies... and we had 3G...

A vehicle with the D like Deutschland (= Germany) sign... and that in Alberta.

Welcome to Banff National Park: UNESCO World Heritage.

For 19.60 CAD we got access to our car (2013).

Für 19,60 CAD pro Fahrzeug geht es rein (2013).

Und dafür bekommen wir einen Führer.

For that we got a guide booklet.

But we had to stick the ticket to the front window.
