Tag/Day 3.5 auf der/on OCEAN PRINCESS in La Goulette, Tunisia

Hier liegt noch die OCEAN PRINCESS sehr schön zum Fotografieren.

Die GRAND HOLIDAY, die ich in Civitavecchia nicht so gut vor die Linse bekommen habe, liegt hier schon günstiger.



In Civitavecchia I had no good occassion to get GRAND HOLIDAY in front of my camera. Here it was better.





Our cabin smelled very fresh.



Unsere Kabine riecht sehr schön frisch.

An der Klimaanlage haben sie wohl gearbeitet. Unser tesakrepp ist weg.



They must have worked on the air-condition. Our tape was removed.

Joseph was a supervisor and explained to us what they did all the day and hoped that everything will be fine now.



Joseph ist Supervisor und kommt um uns kurz zu erklären, was sie alles gemacht hätten und hofft, dass alles nun durch ist.

Als kleinen Trost bekommen wir eine Canapé-Platte... was er nicht wissen konnte: die kannten wir schon... da wir sie gestern schon beim Balkon-Dinner hatten.



As a small excuse we got a plate of canapés... what he did not know: we were familiar with them... as we had them yesterday with our balcony dinner.

Princess Pattern arrived at the door.



Wieder kommt das Princess Pattern durch den Türschlitz.

Und es gibt jeden Abend andere Schokis. Aber es gibt gar keine Handtuchtiere...

On the way to the steakhouse, we saw unique decoration. As we never checked very detailed the Princess Pattern we had no idea what was presented in the Tahitian Lounge that night.



Auf dem Weg ins Steakhouse fällt uns die Dekoration auf. Da wir nie den Princess Pattern sehr aufmerksam lesen, haben wir keine Ahnung, was in der Tahitian Lounge an dem Tag läuft.

Das sieht ja schon mal gut aus: Das was im Chops Grille bei Royal Caribbean bzw. im Pinnacle Grill bei Holland America abgeschafft wurde: Die Präsentation des rohen Fleisches.

We got excellent bread country style. A little Mediterranean touch.



Wir bekommen richtig leckeres Landbrot. Alles mediterran angehaucht.

Direk erklärt uns die unterschiedlichen Fleischarten.

Bruno was not well placed and looked all the time into the tree. When he moved to watch the events in the dining room, he found out that the tree was sticky due to the resin.



Bruno war ein wenig blöd platziert und guckt direkt auf den Baum. Beim Umsetzen, damit er in den Raum gucken kann, stellt er fest, dass der Baum voller Harz ist.

Ich bekomme auf Anfrage Olivenöl und Essig.



On request I got olive oil and some balsamic vinegar.

Terrible the background music: country, polka, rock/pop.



Grauenhaft ist jedoch die Hintergrundmusik: von Country über Polka bis Rock/Pop.

Lecker waren die Jakobsmuscheln mit Gänseleber.



The scallops were great with Foie Gras.

A seafood-bisque which was also too liquid and too unseasoned.



Eine Seafood-Bisque, für die auch gilt: irgendwie zu flüssig und zu ungewürzt.

Auch der Löffel rutscht ständig nach... vielleicht sollte man einen anderen Teller oder lieber eine Tasse verwenden. Die Riesengarnelen sind wieder der Hit. Die Meeresfrüchte sind bislang alle spitzenmäßig zubereitet. Bisher habe ich keine einzige ausgetrocknete oder harte Shrimp erwischt.



The spoon slid all the time down the plate... may they should use another plate or a cup. The king prawns were rocking. All the seafood were perfectly prepared. So far I never got any solid-hard and dried-out shrimp.

Ich nehme ein Porterhouse-Steak bestellt, weil ich so ein Stück Filet Mignon hätte und ein Stück Rumpsteak.



I took a porterhouse-steak so I can get a piece of Filet Mignon and a piece of New York strip steak.



Unsere Beilagen kommen immer extra. So gut wie die Meeresfrüchte sind, so sehr bin ich ein wenig vom Fleisch enttäuscht. Und ich bin ein Fleischfresser. Den Filet Mignon-Teil hätte ich nicht mit einem kleinen Löffel essen können und den Rumpsteak-Teil fand ich jetzt auch nicht so toll... Ich esse es sehr gerne medium-rare (zwischen englisch und medium), aber irgendwie fehlte auch etwas. Wieder muss ich nachwürzen. Es war irgendwie nicht so perfekt im Vergleich zum Pinnacle Grill bei HAL, Cagney's bei NCL, Todd English bei Cunard, Murano bei Celebrity, L'Étoile bei MSC. Die Kritik ist relativ und auf hohem Niveau.



Our sides came extra as usual. As great as all seafood was as disappointing all meat was so far. And I am a meat-lover. The Filet-Mignon-Part I could not eat with a coffee spoon and the NY Strip Steak part did not convince me either... I always eat medium-rare, but somehow something was missing. Again I need to season at the table. It was not as perfect compared to the Pinnacle Grill with HAL, Cagney's with NCL, Todd English with Cunard, Murano with Celebrity, L'Étoile with MSC. So the complaint must be set in relation and on a very high level.

For 20.00 USD cover charge it was still great. But I would not order the porterhouse-steak again and order the rib-eye-steak Johan recommended me to have. It is my favorite steak. Since L'Étoile on MSC FANTASIA 2009 spoiled me I ate only Filet Mignon. But maybe there will soon a mini-cruise on MSC FANTASIA to have there a steak again.



Für 20,00 USD Zuzahlung fande ich es trotzdem ziemlich gut. Ich würde mir das nächste Mal kein Porterhouse-Steak mehr bestellen, sondern doch lieber das Rib-Eye-Steak, das mir Johan empfohlen hatte. Eigentlich ist es mein Lieblingssteak. Seitdem mich aber L'Étoile auf der MSC FANTASIA 2009 verdorben hat, esse ich ja fast nur noch Filet Mignon. Vielleicht gibt es ja mal eine Mini-Cruise auf der MSC FANTASIA, um dort mal wieder ein Steak essen zu gehen...

Schade fand ich, dass bislang noch nie die Brotkrümel weggeräumt wurden.

One crucial cognition we took tonight from the dinner: Italian Maître and Head Waiters on Princess are not Italian Maître and Head Waiters like we knew from Costa and MSC. We were NEVER treated on OCEAN PRINCESS as 2nd class guests like we experienced on Costa or MSC. There were few Italian guests and officers also eating here. They were treated another way because of their common language. But even then Maître and Head Waiter had their eyes everywhere. Either they interrupted their conversation with their countrymates, or they saw that there was a need for some action and they gave other a sign to take care of us. If Raffaele and Luigi would have been on MSC FANTASIA, we might become loyal guests of MSC. So it was Princess luck that they are not working with MSC and we learned the night that there are also wonderful Italian Maître and Head Waiters existing.



Eine wichtige Erkenntnis nehmen wir doch mit: Italienische Maître und Oberkellner bei Princess sind nicht italienische Maître und Oberkellner, wie wir sie bei Costa bzw. MSC kennengelernt haben. Wir wurden hier auf der OCEAN PRINCESS NIE als Gäste 2. Klasse behandelt, sie wie bei MSC oder Costa. Es gab auch italienische Gäste und Offiziere, die hier gegessen haben. Sie wurden anders behandelt, was schon an der gemeinsamen Sprache liegt. Aber der Maître und der Oberkellner hatten auch hier ihre Augen überall. Entweder sie haben ihre Gespräche mit ihren Landsleuten unterbrochen oder sie haben gesehen, dass bei uns Handlungsbedarf besteht und durch Zeichen andere auf uns hingewiesen, so dass jemand kam, der sich dann um uns kümmerte. Wenn Raffaele und Luigi auf der MSC FANTASIA gewesen wären, wären wir jetzt Stammgäste von MSC... aber das ist das Glück von Princess, dass sie es nicht sind und wir heute Abend gelernt haben, dass es auch tolle italienische Maître und Oberkellner gibt.

Auf dem offenen Deck wird alles für Open-Air-Kino vorbereitet.



They prepared everything for an open-air-cinema-event.





Nobody served popcorn. Not in the very first five minutes. Some came to the pool and enjoyed the movie from the pool. Good idea. If I had known that the weather will change soon and it was the very last occasion I would get my swimsuit too. So I was only tired to return to here and looking forward to my new mattress.



Popcorn usw. wird nicht serviert. Zumindest nicht in den ersten fünf Minuten. Einige kommen in den Pool und genießen den Film aus dem Pool heraus. Gute Idee. Wenn ich gewusst hätte, dass das Wetter sich so ändert, dass es zum letzten Mal stattfindet, hätte ich auch meine Badehose geholt. So bin ich bloß zu müde, um nochmals hochzukommen und freue mich sehr auf meine neue Matratze.
