We went quickly into China-Town. To our surprise, they still offered voyages on the Peace Boat OCEAN DREAM. It was the former TROPICALE of Carnival.

Here we felt comfortable: they had VitaminWater. And many other goodies. I had the only capacity for a stuffed bun and "Shaved Ice" with mache "red peas/beans". Bruno and I shared a portion to try.

We went to the shopping center Yokohama Daisekai. In the Café Fortune you not just have a cup of coffee but also "feed" the fish with your feet. They loved the dander of your cornea.

We headed for a brief visit to the Ma Zhu-Temple. Here you need to pay an admission fee and were not allowed to take pictures. Somehow the Longshan Temple in Taipei, Taiwan was more beautiful.

Back to the Osanbashi Cruise Terminal. We wanted to join bidding farewell and offering the spectacle others offered to us while our ship called in Kagoshima, Japan and Osaka, Japan.

It was still calm.

 border=0

Philys already find a nice spot.

Customer Service Director Maarit Aartoaho told me before disembarkation that this afternoon would be a flower ceremony due to the beginning of the Japan-season of DIAMOND PRINCESS. So we arrived a while before setting sail on the roof of the Cruise Terminal to be part of it. The commander on board was now Captain Todd McBain. Anthony Kaufmann was joining him who was in charge for the Asia operation in Santa Clarita, CA. The last chance to thank and say goodbye to Hotel General Manager Graham Kelly.

Before we left, we got a daily programme for today so that we knew what would happen now onboard. They conducted the life drill during the set sail. It was somehow sad actually since they did not have a chance to follow the activities at the pier to bid farewell to the ship.

It was beautiful to experience up close MY DIAMOND PRINCESS: Us the ship and the passengers. And the passengers us ashore.

 border=0

I was observing the crew members how they followed the event, we offered ashore.

Apparently, they enjoyed the music too.

 border=0

Even I did not make their personal acquaintance and know their names: I was sure that they did their part to deliver us an outstanding voyage onboard. For that, I need to say thank you. They were just wonderful.

While I was studying in West-Berlin, Germany I never had a chance to see a parade in the Eastern part of the city. I saw them only on TV. Distributions of balloons and little flags reminded me to the parades they had in the former GDR (East-Germany). We did not get only one single balloon or a flag. They made sure ashore that we would be able to help them to finalize perfectly our part at this special event.

I assumed it was the Japanese Version of the Spice Girls. They were heating up us ashore and the crew and cruisers onboard so that farewell would be kept with us in fond memories.

Although we were on the wrong side: it would be nicer to be onboard.

Then we could see how gorgeous it would be to see all the balloons released to the sky. All of us were sad that this part of the voyage came to the end. Many of our crew-friends were forgetting us and dedicated now the new guests.

We could be onboard but after the ship set sail we checked the reality: 16:58 hrs and it was the ship moving and not the giant wheel.

 border=0

A last view.

A very last view...

 border=0

Und noch ein allerletzter...

Und noch ein aller-allerletzter. Bald ist sie weg.

 border=0

And one more very very last. Soon it was gone.

Finally, our rooms were ready, and we could enter the rooms. We could see how MY DIAMOND PRINCESS disappeared at the horizon.

 border=0

The view from the room was lovely. This time we did not book a Club Room. But anyhow the rooms were nice.

In the evening we went to the shopping center Queen's Square.

 border=0

 border=0

First, we need to find a post.

Caution: many of the ATMs were not accessible around the clock.

 border=0

 border=0

But here you could get also cash with Postbank as international card holder.

When we were heading on, we discovered a Three-F-Markt.

 border=0

 border=0

There you find also ATMs of the so-called E-net. You find them frequently at Family Mart-Branches. So Japan changed a lot during the time. I could remember well that I was upset that you need to find a Post ATM or accidentially a branch of Citibank in Tokyo, Japan.

Our very last meal in a party of 8 in a Soba-Noodle restaurant Sarashina Ikkyu.

 border=0

We had to return to the hotel. That time we walked around downstairs.

In the lobby, we had to say goodbye to Claudia and Lothar who needed to catch their return flight the next morning.

 border=0

 border=0

We had a lot of fun together.

A few drops of tears.

 border=0

I bought at Sunkus in the shopping center a few little goodies for the night.
