We went for lunch.We knew this place from April 2010, and we liked it very much. This time we sat in the rear, and we could see how they mixed their own salad dressings. Lovely fresh herbs, garlic, onions...
Wir kannten dieses Café ja schon vom April 2010 und es hat uns gut gefallen. Dieses Mal saßen wir hinten und ich konnte zugucken, wie sie dort ihre eigenen Salatmarinaden gemischt hatten. Schöne frische Kräuter, Knoblauch, Zwiebeln...Eddie wollte ein vegetarisches Sandwich und war überrascht, dass es mehr ein Salat mit zwei Scheiben Brot war.
Eddie wanted to have a vegetarian sandwich and was surprised that it was more a salad with two slices of bread.But you can see how excited he was when he got it.
Aber man sieht, wie er sich auch über den Anblick freut.Das war mein "Flämisches Gulasch". Die Pommes Frites waren wohl selbst gemacht!!! Und die Salatbeilage richtig lecker - und das sage ich als fleischfressende Pflanze, die sonst nichts mag, das zu gesund ist.
This was my "Flemish stew". The French Fries was handcut!!! And the salad garnish really yummy - and these words come from a carnivore who hates everything that is healthy and fresh.paiagirl wanted to try a cottage cheese-sandwich.
paiagirl wollte unbedingt einen Hüttenkäse-Sandwich probieren.Und war wohl auch positiv über den Anblick überrascht.
And was very surprised when she saw it.Something like this is not available in the US.
So etwas gibt es wohl nicht in den USA.Bruno hatte Lust auf Fleisch und bestellte sich einen Hamburger mit Ziegenkäse. Er sagt, dass sogar sein Brötchen selbstgebacken war, wie überhaupt das Brot, das hier serviert wurde.
Bruno wanted to have some meat and ordered a Hamburger with goat cheese. He said even the roll was freshly baked like all the bread which was served here.Anyhow he said that this was on one of the best burgers he ever had for a long time.
Auf jeden Fall meint er, dass es der leckerste Burger war, den er seit langem hatte.Man sieht, dass alle zu kämpfen hatten, weil zusammengeklappt alles etwas groß war.
You see all of us had to fight because folded up it was quite tricky to eat as it was too large.I liked the sauce so much that I need to have a spoon and only a few juniper berries and bay leaves were left over.
Ich fand die Soße so lecker, dass ich alles ausgelöffelt habe und nur noch die Wacholderbeeren und das Lorbeerblatt übriggeblieben sind.Bruno wollte noch ein Brot für zu Hause mitnehmen.
Bruno wanted to have a loaf of bread to take home.Unfortunately, there was no more capacity for any piece of cake. It looked so homemade.
Leider war kein Platz mehr für Kuchen. Der sah auch so richtig hausgemacht aus.Wie immer haben wir sehr nett gesessen und gegessen.
As usually we sat and ate very nicely.Here in the Brooderie.
Hier in der Brooderie.Und weiter geht es zum Wagen zurück. Und alles damals hinter dem Baunzaun versteckt als wir vergangenes Jahr da waren.
Let us walk back to the car. One year ago everything was hidden behind construction fences. And parking was so cheap in Ghent.
