Tag/Day 3.1 auf der/on GRAND PRINCESS in Le Havre, France

Eigentlich wollte ich ausschlafen. Denn wir wollten eh nicht nach Paris, weil wir mit dem ICE oder TGV von Mannheim aus genauso schnell dort sind, als von Le Havre aus. Deswegen wollten wir den Tag nicht so früh beginnen. Aber während Bruno noch schlief und ich am Schreibtisch saß, kam bereits die AIDAblu (2) rein. Da wir ja nun selbst keinen Balkon hatten, bin ich schnell auf die Promenade geeilt.



Actually I wanted to sleep off. As we had to plans to got to Paris because we could take the high-speed-trains from our place and it's nearly the same time like from Le Havre. So we did not want to start the day that early. But while Bruno was still sleeping and I was at the writing desk AIDAblu (2) came in. As we did not have a balcony, I had to walk up the promenade quickly.

It was somehow funny. She should enter the port backward. But she was turned around in the harbor and not outside the breakwater so that the passed twice.



Es war etwas witzig. Sie sollte rückwärts in den Hafen rein. Aber sie wurde erst im Hafen gedreht und nicht bereits außerhalb der Mole, so dass sie zweimal an mir vorbei fuhr.

Unsere Neugier auf das Produkt AIDA ist nicht so groß, als dass wir unbedingt selbst Geld ausgeben würden. Deswegen lasse ich mal die Bilder für die AIDA- und sonstigen Fans ohne weiteren Kommentar stehen.



My curiosity on AIDA was not very big to spend any money. So the pictures are just for AIDA and other ship fans without further comments.

By the way: the separation by (2) is just for me internally as I took pictures of the previous AIDAblu which sails today as PACIFIC JEWEL under the flag of P&O Australia.



Übrigens die Unterscheidung mit der (2) erfolgt für mich intern, da ich auch schon mal früher eine AIDAblu fotografiert habe, die heute als PACIFIC JEWEL für P&O Australia fährt.

Unsere GRAND PRINCESS ist auf den Bemudas registriert.



Our GRAND PRINCESS is registered on Bermuda.

The more I walk around I more I like our ship.



Je öfters ich herumlaufe, desto besser gefällt mir unser Schiff.

Was mir allerdings nicht gefällt, sind die Wolken...



But what I do not like are the clouds.

For noon some showers were announced.



Für den Mittag sind Regenschauer angekündigt.

Also frühstücken wir in Ruhe an Bord und sehen mal, wie wir den Tag verbringen.



So next we had breakfast on board and we will see what the day will bring.

Somehow lousy weather is part of a cruise in September out of Southampton.



Irgendwie gehört schlechtes Wetter schon dazu, wenn man eine Cruise für den September ab Southampton bucht.

Ich gucke mich mal auf den öffentlichen Herrentoiletten um.



I looked around in the public men's room.

Most things are touch-free. All doors remained open.



Schön alles berührungsfrei. Alle Türen stehen offen.

Und ein Potpourri für den guten Duft.



And a potpouri for a good smell.

Who need Euros could change right at this machine. But not at an excellent conversion rate. We were only interested in getting more USD but could just get 1.25 USD/EUR.



Wer Euros brauchte konnte direkt am Automaten wechseln. Allerdings zu einem sehr bescheidenen Kurs. Wir wären ja nur an USD interessiert gewesen und hätten bloß 1,25 USD/EUR etwa bekommen.

Es kommen die Hinweise, dass wir gerne die Wartezeit bis zur Ausschiffung in der Vista Lounge verbringen dürfen.



The information came that we can spend our waiting time until debarkation in the Vista Lounge.

We were surprised by the disembarkation order.



Überrascht hat uns die Ausschiffungsordnung.

Es gab eigentlich bloß 09.55 Uhr für Gäste, die den Gepäckservice in Anspruch nehmen wollten.



There was only 09.55 hrs for individual guests who wanted to use the baggage service.

All other time slots were taken by groups and guests with transfers.



Alle anderen Zeiten sind für Gruppen und Gäste, die einen Transfer gebucht haben.

Da das Sabatinis am Ausschiffungstag für Suitengäste nicht geöffnet ist, verzichten wir auf das Kabinenfrühstück und gehen nochmals ins Sabatinis.



As we learned that Sabatini is not open for Suite-guests on the day of debarkation we did not try the room service and went again to Sabatini's.

We enjoyed all the yummy things again.

Bircher Müsli was made actually more for the Amercian taste: too much honey and so too sweet.



Das Bircher Müsli war leider wieder für den amerikanischen Geschmack hergestellt: viel zu viel Honig und damit viel zu süß.

Ich nehme mal ein Omelette.



I took an omelette.

Bruno got his Granola-Parfait immediately when he stopped to eat the Bircher Müsli.



Bruno bekommt aber sofort wieder sein Parfait mit Granola, als er das Bircher Müsli stehen lässt.

Übrigens möchte ich mal diejenigen vorstellen, die uns jeden Morgen bereits richtig klasse in den Tag mit ihrer Aufmerksamkeit und Freundlichkeit eingestimmt haben. Monika aus Rumänien, John aus Indien, Fabiola aus Brasilien und Richard von den Philippinen. Sie hatten sehr großen Anteil daran gehabt, dass wir uns auf der GRAND PRINCESS sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Hoffentlich treffen wir sie alle auf der DIAMOND PRINCESS 2013 wieder. Es war quasi Sonnenschein pur, obwohl es draußen ganz anders aussah.



By the way, I would like to introduce those great crew members who helped us to make our day with their attention and friendliness every morning: Monika from Romania, John from India, Fabiola from Brazil and Richard from the Philippines. They had a significant part to our well-being on GRAND PRINCESS. We hope to see them all back in May 2013 on DIAMOND PRINCESS. Although it looked different outside: it was like pure sunshine with them.

And the last in the round is Sekh Ilias from India. He prepared our breakfast and more for other meals later the day. Watching him work made a lot of fun as he always had a smile on his lips for you, so he was part of the best start of the day.



Der letzte im Bunde ist Sekh Ilias aus Indien. Er hat unser Frühstück zubereitet und nebenbei schon für den Abend vorbereitet. Ihm bei der Arbeit zuzugucken hat besonders viel Spaß gemacht. Er hatte für jeden Gast immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen, so dass ein Tag nur gut beginnen konnte.
