Noch ein letztes Frühstück an Bord: Wir bedanken uns bei Restaurant Manager Jose für seine tolle Arbeit. Wir haben jetzt nochmals Gelegenheit uns vom Gebäckdienst zu verabschieden, die uns jeden Morgen verwöhnt haben: Armida und William.



One last breakfast on board: We would like to thank Restaurant Manager Jose for his great work. We now have another opportunity to say goodbye to the pastry service who spoiled us every morning: Armida and William.

We are now on the opposite side at Pier 25. From here, we can still see the waves hitting the wave breaker. We're glad we're on this side now.

We forgot to put the luggage tags on the night before.



Wir hatten am Vorabend vergessen, die Gepäckanhänger anzubringen.

Aber sie haben uns auch anhand der QR-Codes von Bagtap gefunden und unser Gepäck zu unserer Gruppe Blau 4 gestellt. Hier können wir ganz einfach, unser Reiserouting aktualisieren, ohne dass wir alles immer ausfüllen müssen.

Daniele von NCC Shuttle ist pünktlich da. Wir durften wieder einen Shared Van buchen. Wir teilen uns die Abfahrt nur mit einem weiteren Paar. Wir werden direkt unser Hotel gefahren.

We are back at the Hilton Rome Airport. We were here after MSC SEASIDE 2021 and before ALLURE OF THE SEAS 2015.



Wir sind wieder im Hilton am Flughafen Rom. Zuletzt waren wir hier nach der MSC SEASIDE 2021 bzw. bei der ALLURE OF THE SEAS 2015.

Wir laufen wieder rüber zum Terminal. Ein Teil der Renovierungsarbeiten am Laufband ist beendet.



We walk back over to the terminal. Some of the moving walkway renovations are complete.





Since the shuttle from the hotel to Rome is still not offered, we retake the train from the Fiumicino Airport train station. We have already pre-ordered the tickets online with Trenitalia again. The automatic access controls are new.



Da der Shuttle vom Hotel nach Rom immer noch nicht angeboten wird, nehmen wir wieder den Zug am Bahnhof Flughafen Fiumicino. Wir haben die Tickets bereits wieder im Internet bei Trenitalia vorbestellt. Neu sind die automatischen Zugangskontrollen.







We will take the Leonardo Express to the Rome Termini train station.



Mit dem Leonardo Express fahren wir zum Bahnhof Rom Termini.







A nasty surprise awaits us at the train station Rome Termini. We only have a few minutes to change trains, and platform 15 is outside the hall.



Eine böse Überraschung erwartet uns am Bahnhof Rom Termini. Wir haben nur wenige Minuten Zeit zum Umsteigen und Gleis 15 ist außerhalb der Halle.



Our train passes Ciampino Airport. This is where the low-cost airlines start, and that's why it's particularly crowded here up to Ciampino. After that, it gets tranquil on the train. We get off at Castel Gandolfo.



Unsere Bahn führt am Flughafen Ciampino vorbei. Hier starten die Billigflieger. Deswegen ist es hier besonders voll bis Ciampino. Danach wird es sehr ruhig im Zug. Wir steigen in Castel Gandolfo aus.





Vom Bahnhof Castel Gandolfo in den Ort geht es steil hoch. Wir laufen die Stufen hoch, statt den Bus zu nehmen. Unterwegs genießen wir den Blick auf den Kratersee.



There is a steep climb from the Castel Gandolfo train station to the village, and we walk up the steps instead of taking the bus. On the way, we enjoy the view of the crater lake.

The main street in town would be a beautiful open-air restaurant. Unfortunately, it's too cold to sit out here and eat.



Die Hauptstraße im Ort wäre ein wunderschönes Open-Air-Restaurant. Nur ist es leider zu kalt, um hier draußen zu sitzen und zu essen.

Wir essen mittags im Amici del Gusto. Wir wissen nicht, was wir bestellen so sollen, so stellt der Wirt etwas für uns zusammen. Er bringt und bringt, bis dass wir Stop sagen. So können wir sehr viel durchprobieren. Neu für uns Straciatella: eine Abwandlung vom Mozzarella.



We have lunch at Amici del Gusto. We don't know what to order, so the host puts something together for us. He brings and brings until we say stop. So we can try out a lot. New for us Straciatella: a modification of mozzarella.

We are in the Pope's summer residence: Castel Gandolfo.



Wir sind in der Sommerresidenz des Papstes: Castel Gondalfo.

Wir haben eine Tour durch den Park der Sommerresidenz gebucht, allerdings zu Fuß. Wegen der Kälte haben die Cabrio-Busse durchsichtige Planen. Zum Fotografieren absolut tödlich, da man unterwegs nicht aussteigen darf. Sehr schön. Nur eben heute zu kalt. Aber während unserer Besichtigung regnet es nicht.



We booked a tour of the park of the summer residence, albeit on foot. Because of the cold, the convertible buses have transparent tarpaulins. Deadly for photography, as you are not allowed to get out on the way. Very nice. Just too cold today. But during our visit, it does not rain.

Although we still have a little time to look around the museum: we skip it and quickly walk back down to the train station as long as it is dry. As soon as we sit on the train, it starts to rain. And we're lucky: it really only rains, when we're on the train.



Obwohl wir noch ein wenig Zeit hätten, uns im Museum umzusehen: wir verzichten darauf und laufen schnell runter zurück zum Bahnhof, solange es trocken ist. Kaum sitzen wir im Zug, fängt es an zu regnen. Und wir haben Glück: es regnet wirklich nur dann, wenn wir im Zug sitzen.





Bei Martinucci im Bahnhof Rom Termini kaufen wir uns ein paar Brote für das Abendessen. Es sind soviele interessante Sachen im Angebot, dsss es noch für einen Mitternachtssnack und frühstück reicht.



At Martinucci's in Rome Termini train station, we buy some sandwiches for dinner. There are so many exciting things on offer that it's enough for a midnight snack and breakfast.

At Venchi's we'll do some shopping for tomorrow.
