Seetag/Day at Sea 4.3 auf der/on OCEAN PRINCESS

Einen echten Empfang wieder vom Kapitän. Wann hatten wir das zuletzt gehabt??? Auf der WESTERDAM gab es nicht. Auf der CELEBRITY EQUINOX gab es das auch nicht. Zuletzt wohl auf der NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS meine ich.



A true Captain's reception. When did we have this before??? On the WESTERDAM we did not have it. On CELEBRITY EQUINOX we did not have it either. I think the last time it was on NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS (only in German).

And Captain Stefano Ravera shook everybody's hand. Unusual: no photographer who took pictures. Usually, these pictures we buy.



Und der Kapitän Stefano Ravera gibt jedem Gast die Hand. Ungewöhnlich: kein Fotograf, der diesen Moment festhält. Die Bilder, die wir eigentlich fast immer kaufen.

We got something to drink. Our waitress from the Club Lounge got me without extra request a Diet Coke.



Wir bekommen etwas zu trinken. Unsere Kellnerin von der Club Lounge bringt mir unaufgefordert meine Coca Cola Light.

Es gibt sogar Knabberzeug. Für den Cappucino und meine Cola Light rücken sie keine raus. Nur wenn Alkohol bestellt wird.



You got something to nosh. For our cappuccino or Diet Coke, they do not give you anything. Only when ordered alcohol.

Canapés were served.



Kleine Häppchen werden gereicht.

Im Hintergrund läuft eine Präsentation von der Princess-Geschichte. Ach ja, auch die ROYAL PRINCESS ist ja bald wieder Geschichte und wechselt ja zur P&O um dort als ADONIA zu fahren...



In the background there was a presentation of the Princess history. Oh yeah, ROYAL PRINCESS will be soon history and change to P&O to sail as ADONIA.

Our Cruise Director Jason introduced the Employee of the month.



Unser Cruise Director Jason stellt hier den Mitarbeiter des Monats vor.

Ich finde, dass es eine sympathische Geste ist.



I thought that it was very sympatic gesture.

During the speech of the Captain, the presentation was continued. That was why Captain Merrill Stubing from LOVE BOAT (PACIFIC PRINCESS/SUN PRINCESS/ISLAND PRINCESS) greeted in the background.



Während der Rede des Kapitäns läuft die Präsentation weiter. Deswegen grüßt im Hintergrund Kapitän Merrill Stubing vom LOVE BOAT (PACIFIC PRINCESS/SUN PRINCESS/ISLAND PRINCESS).

Übrigens ist es ein echter Kapitän zum Anfassen, der sich auch in der Öffentlichkeit zeigt und ausdrücklich dazu auffordert, angesprochen zu werden, wenn man es mag.

Und dann werden die Senior Offiziere vorgestellt.

Nur die Hoteldirektorin oder bei Princess Hotel General Manager schließt die Augen, als ich sie fotografiere...

Das lenkte doch von der Rede des Kapitäns ab und sorgte für Heiterkeit.



That redirected us from the speech of the Captain and occured some amused faces.

Then the loop started again and took us back to the history again.



Dann fängt die Schleife irgendwann wieder von vorne an und es geht historisch wirklich weit zurück.

So sehen wir schon mal den Chefkoch, den wir ja morgen näher beim Chef's Table kennenlernen: Antonio Constantino und unser Maître d'Hotel Francisco Patricio.



So we saw already the Executive Chef which we will know the next day at the Chef's Table: Antonio Constantino and our Maître d'Hotel Francisco Patricio.





But they did not cheer to us and left the stage extra "dry".



Leider stoßen sie nicht mit uns an und verlassen "trocken" die Bühne.

Wir gucken uns mal im Panorama Buffet um, was sie eigentlich am Gala-Abend bekommen. Dort ist aber auch alles eingedeckt.



We looked around in the Panorama Buffet because we were curious what they get. But there all tables were set.





They informed us that you have added to the typical self-service buffet also a part as Evening Bistro with service. But at the gala nights, there is no self-service available.



Man klärt uns auf, dass es abends neben einem klassischen SB-Büffet auch ein Teil als Evening Bistro mit Bedienung angeboten wird. Nur am Gala-Abend gibt es kein SB-Büffet.

Wir sind die ersten am Tisch: Raj und Davy erwarten uns bereits und haben uns bereits vermisst. So nett, wie es ist, dass man vermisst zu werden, aber das ist das schöne ja beim anytime dining: Niemand vermisst einen und muss sich nicht schuldig fühlen, weil man jetzt zwei Nächte hier nicht gegessen hat und auch die nächsten zwei Nächte hier nicht essen wird.



We were the first at the table. Raj and Davy already expected us and missed us. As nice as it is to be missed but that is why we love anytime dining: nobody misses you, and you must not feel bad because you were not here for two nights and because you will not have dinner for the next two nights too.

As nobody came we need to wait... only complete tables were served. Again a reason against flexible dining. They start with the service when we sit at the table and do not want to share.



Da niemand kommt, müssen wir warten... nur vollständige Tische werden bedient. Wieder ein Grund gegen flexibles Dining. Man beginnt mit dem Service, wenn wir am Tisch sitzen und nicht teilen wollen.

Falls jemand in nächster Zeit Princess fährt: kann mir jemand noch ein paar von diesen leckeren Rollen-Brötchen mitbringen???



If someone is going on Princess in next time: can someone get me some of this rolled rolls???

By the way that was Nina and Cheryll who wanted to join us for the Chef's Table tomorrow. Because Cheryll had a bad cold and got the instructions which included health information they had to cancel for our all's safety. If someone need a room around the Missouri-Arkansas-border: Blue Eye Black and Breakfast.



Das sind übrigens Nina und Cheryll, die eigentlich morgen zum Chef's Table mitwollten. Weil sich Cheryll jedoch stark erkältet hat, haben sie wegen der Gesundheitshinweise, die wir bekommen haben, vorsichtshalber abgesagt. Falls jemand mal ein Zimmer im Grenzgebiet von Missouri-Arkansas braucht: Blue Eye Black and Breakfast.

Lori und Jim kennen wir auch vom ersten Abend schon her. Sie haben u. a. die DVDs für Holland America produziert und dabei ganze Arbeit geleistet: weil wir die DVDs so toll fanden, wollten wir unbedingt mal HAL fahren.



Lori and Jim we also know from the first night. They produced the DVDs for Holland America and made a very good job: because we liked the DVDs we sailed HAL.







Der Lobster und die Großgarnelen: die Großgarnelen waren sogar noch besser als der Lobster...



The lobster and the king prawns: the king prawns were better than the lobster...

All shells were removed incl. king prawns.



Alle Schalen werden entfernt inkl. Großgarnelen.

Uns wird Nachschlag angeboten, was Bruno und ich dankend ablehnen.



They offered us more but Bruno and I had enough.

As Raj knew the preferences of this guest the got another pheasant.



Da Raj die Gewohnheiten seiner Gäste kennt, bringt er hier noch einen Fasan vorbei.

Und dann kommt auch die flüssige Butter, auf die wir alle warten.



Finally the liquid butter came we waited for.

Lori and Jim celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Princess delivered a small cake.



Lori und Jim feiern ihren 25. Hochzeitstag. Princess bringt ein Törtchen vorbei.

Sie freuen sich sehr über den Gruß von Princess.



They were very happy on the small greeting from Princess.

By the way, this was the Love Boat Dessert which we got to try.



Das ist übrigens das Love Boat Dessert, dass wir zum Probieren bekommen.

Zuckerfrei - aber einen Haufen Fett pur... Daher nichts für mich...



Sugar free - but a bulk of pure fat... So nothing for me...
